OUR MISSION:
To warm the hearts of our community by enabling Christian-oriented performing arts, visual arts, and related endeavors through financial assistance, administrative and promotional support, and provision of venue space for sponsored organizations.
Our Origin Story:
Fezziwig Foundation was established as a Georgia non-profit corporation in February 2022 to underwrite family-oriented amateur community theatre in Gwinnett County. Fezziwig's initial "client" was Dogwood Theatre Company, an unaffiliated association of college and high school actors and actresses with common ties in the Dacula area. Three of Fezziwig's board members are co-founders of Dogwood.
In the summer of 2021, Fezziwig's future leaders produced Dogwood's first-ever work: the play Arsenic and Old Lace, marking a triumphant beginning. That Christmas, the Dogwood troupe hosted a holiday singalong at Tradewind Coffee Shop in Dacula, reaching Gwinnett citizens in a smaller, more casual setting.
That second successful production showcased the staying power of youth-led live performing arts in the area, justifying the formation of a non-profit to support such initiatives. In 2022, with 501(c)(3) credentials in hand, Fezziwig Foundation produced the play Clue: On Stage out of Lawrenceville Arts Center. The very public success (nearly a thousand people seated over four shows) expanded Fezziwig’s reach within metro Atlanta, building a more diverse following, and connecting the organization to new corporate sponsors, private donors, and patrons. It also helped forge a friendly alliance with Aurora Theatre, the well-respected resident troupe of Lawrenceville Arts Center.
